Latino Outreach in the North Atlanta Cluster

On July 31st, our North Atlanta cluster held a Grade K-12 experience for one of our local communities. Central MH Village, located off Chattahoochee Avenue near Bolton Academy, is comprised of families that go to E. Rivers Elementary, Sutton Middle and North Atlanta High School. We also invited our neighboring Bolton Latino families since this location was also close to them.

The event provided a great opportunity for our students and families to meet the local principals and PTA leadership teams. Thanks to representatives from each school, our students were able to find out their bus and homeroom information, learn about after school activities and other student offerings. We had many Spanish speaking representatives, including some from APS, so these families could learn more about our schools and feel part of the local community. Other services or resources provided included Agape, information on the Peach State Care program and Medicaid, as well as the Affordable Health Act.

For those of you who were unable to attend, it was an evening full of smiles, interest and a strong sense of community. Even when the rain arrived and the umbrellas came out, we still had many families present.

If you are interested in helping in Latino community outreach programs, please contact your local school PTA or feel free to contact our NAPPS Latino Outreach Representatives.
